The Wren Climate Collective

A new offering from Wren, The Wren Climate Collective uses extensive frameworks and scorecards to identify early-stage carbon removal projects, and prove their project credibility and ability to generate carbon credits now or in the future. Donors can then unlock their philanthropic dollars to support these trusted initiatives.

Through the WCC’s frameworks, Mpactful Ventures was able to fund a grant which includes gifts for three initiatives supporting critical policy work and carbon removal tech development: Mati Carbon, the Clean Air Task Force, and the Carbon Removal Alliance.

Mati Carbon is working to cumulatively remove 100 million tonnes of carbon by 2040 via their Enhanced Rock Weathering technology. Not only is this a long-term solution for CO₂ removal, it also aids smallholder farmers by providing fertilizers, reducing costs and enhancing crop yields.

The Clean Air Task Force aims to use systems analysis, technology innovation and policy advocacy to efficiently and affordably deliver the energy needs of all people in a way that does no damage to Earth’s atmosphere. Their areas of focus are not limited to a single technology or approach; instead they support many levers across the environmental and climate movement.

The Carbon Removal Alliance deploys high-quality, permanent carbon removal projects globally, while designing and backing policies that set high standards across the carbon removal field. Their aim is to work with people at every level of the economy to create a trillion-dollar carbon removal market.
